PURPOSE: A method for detecting tone when transmitting a facsimile is provided so that a function for detecting the tone of the facsimile can be perfected in the control unit of a base station in a wireless subscriber network. CONSTITUTION: A base station control unit(230) reduces counted value through the count of frames transmitted from a base station(220) or an exchange(240). The base station control unit(230) discriminates whether the counted value is larger than "0" or not. If the counted value is not larger than "0" and the same as "0", the base station control unit(230) discriminates whether the flag value is "1" or not. If the flag value is "1", the base station control unit(230) detects an answer tone. If the flag value is not "1", the base station control unit(230) detects a calling tone. The base station control unit(230) changes the flag value. At this time, the flag value is changed "0" into "1" or "1" into "0". According to the change of the value of flag, the calling tone and the answer tone are detected alternately.
