The invention relates to a device for conveying a gaseous or liquid medium. The inventive device comprises a pump unit, especially a vane-cell pump or roller cell pump, which comprises a pump housing, a contour ring that includes a working chamber, a rotor that is pivotally mounted in the working chamber and first and second pressure plates that close the working chamber in the axial direction. The inventive device also comprises an electromotor which comprises a primary shaft that can be coupled to the rotor. The conveying device (1) is characterised in that the rotor (9) is centred at the first pressure plate (17) by means of a centring device (21) and that the primary shaft (31) can be coupled to the rotor (9) by means of a coupling (33) which compensates for an axle tramp between the primary shaft (31) and the rotor (9).
