PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely copy data stored in a storage device included in a storage device system constituted by connecting the storage device concerned for storing data of a fixed length format to a main frame host having an access mechanism for accessing fixed length format data to a storage device included in another storage device system. SOLUTION: Plural storage device systems each of which connects a storage device 150 of an FBA format to a main frame host 100 having an FBA access interface 104 and a CKD-FBA format conversion mechanism 102 are prepared and mutually connected through FBA access interface communication lines 110 so that each storage control processor 102 can directly access the storage device 150 of the opposite storage device system. Thus the data duplication system 1 remotely copies data stored in the storage device 150 of one storage device system to the storage device 150 of the other storage device system.
