PURPOSE: An automatic transfer switch adopting N-phase closed transition switching system is provided to appropriately operate earthing trouble prevention device, eliminate erroneous operation of the device and obtain earthing effect of AC power source. CONSTITUTION: An automatic transfer switch is characterized in that the width(W1) between a three-phase normal power source input/output voltage terminal and an emergency power source input/output voltage terminal is larger than the width(W2) between an N-phase normal power source terminal and the emergency power source input/output voltage terminal. A first N-phase operation terminal(3') is formed to be longer than a three-phase operation terminal(3). Thus, N-phase contacts the normal power source side neutral terminal and at the same time the emergency power source side neutral terminal when power is switched, thereby achieving closed-transition of N-phase.
