PURPOSE: An apparatus for constructing a LAN(Local Area Network) is provided to use a four-wire telephone line and a four-wire telephone distribution network in densely-populated districts such as apartment complexes or skyscrapers, so as to secure high speed of transmission speeds and high quality. CONSTITUTION: Distribution frames and each subscriber are connected through a telephone line(8). Each WJ(Wall Jack)(9) is installed on a terminal of a telephone line of each subscriber, and separates a high frequency area from a low frequency area. An ICU(Intermediate Control Unit)(6) and a CU(27) have frequency band separation functions by corresponding to the WJs(9). The ICU and the CU(6,27) are installed on the distribution frames. A telephone network is connected to a low frequency band, and a data network is connected to a high frequency band. The low frequency area is used for telephone connections, and the high frequency area is used for data communication, to supply telephone communication services and data communication services through the telephone line(8). The distribution frames are divided into an MDF(Main Distribution Frame) and an IDF(Intermediate Distribution Frame)(7).
