摘要 PURPOSE: A power supply device for a glass melting furnace and a method for controlling the same are provided which generate no bubble in molten glass materials, and significantly decrease direct electric shock accidents and electrical loss extended over surrounding equipments. CONSTITUTION: The power supply device for a glass melting furnace comprises: (i) a cutoff which provides a power supply for heating resistance to the glass melting furnace through at least one pair of electrode terminals placed on the opposite side walls of the glass melting furnace and is able to cut-off the power source when an accident occurs; (ii) a voltage detecting means which detects each voltage of the electrode terminal; and (iii) a controlling part which cuts off the power supply for heating resistance, supplied to each electrode terminal when the voltage difference detected from both electrode terminals is more than fixed value. The method for controlling the power supply device for a glass melting furnace comprises steps of: (i) detecting each voltage of each electrode terminal; and (ii) cutting off the power supply for heating resistance, supplied to each electrode terminal when the voltage difference detected from both electrode terminals is more than fixed value.
