PURPOSE: A device and a method for processing a plurality of communication protocols are provided to execute an inter-conversion of a protocol data in high speed by dispersing and processing a load when performing the inter-conversion processing for a different type of protocol. CONSTITUTION: In a device for processing a plurality of communication protocols, the first physical/link layer processing block processes the first protocol type of link layer information received/transmitted through the first transmission path. The second physical/link layer processing block processes the second protocol type of link layer information received/transmitted through the second transmission path. The third physical/link layer processing block processes the third protocol type of link layer information received/transmitted through the third transmission path. The first upper layer processor is provided, wherein an upper layer information of the first protocol data having the first protocol type is analyzed and processed to store in the first buffering memory, a forward path processing and a backward path processing are performed, in which the forward path processing informs data processing for inter-conversion with the third upper layer processor associated to the third physical/link layer processing block, and a backward path processing fetches data stored in the first buffering memory and converts the data into the first protocol data to transfer to the first physical/link layer processing block upon informing data processing for inter-conversion from the third upper layer processor. The second upper layer processor is provided, wherein an upper layer information of the second protocol data having the second protocol type is analyzed and processed to store in the second buffering memory, a forward path processing and a backward path processing are performed, in which the forward path processing informs data processing for inter-conversion to the third upper layer processor, and a backward path processing fetches data stored in the second buffering memory and converts the data into the second protocol data to transfer to the second physical/link layer processing block upon informing data processing for inter-conversion from the third upper layer processor. The third upper layer processor is provided, wherein an upper layer information of the third protocol data having the third protocol type is analyzed and processed to store in the second buffering memory, a forward path processing and a backward path processing are performed, in which the forward path processing informs data processing for inter-conversion to the first and second upper layer processors respectively, and a backward path processing fetches data stored in the second buffering memory and converts the data into the second protocol data to transfer to the second physical/link layer processing block upon informing data processing for inter-conversion from the first and second upper layer processors.
