METHOD FOR DETERMINING GATEWAY AS ROOT FOR DUAL NETWORK INTERWORKING

PURPOSE: The method for determining a gateway as a root for linking dual network is provided to prevent a channel overlapping and overallocating of the channel even in case of reset by forcibly allocating a root function to a gateway for linking an external network and regularly managing information of the channel and bandwidth. CONSTITUTION: The gateway for linking the external network is connected to a 1394 network(40). A function of BM/IRM(Bus Manager/Isochronous Resource Manager) is allocated to a gateway node(50). The gateway node is designated as a root(60). Whether reset is generated is checked(70). If reset is generated due to power-off of a specific node, whether the gateway is determined as a root is checked(80). The 1394 network re-forms a topology after the reset, to prevent overlapping the channel and excessive allocation of the bandwidth.
