The hinge for a building door or window has a hinge axis (S) bolt (16) in a bush (5) in the hinge section attached to the door frame. The bush and the lifting spindle (8) are relatively rotatable but prevented from separating under axial loads. The bush and spindle can have interlocking rib and groove formations.
