CONTINUOUS CASTING MOULD THAT IS PROTECTED AGAINST WEAR AND TEAR

The invention relates to a mould (10) for the continuous casting of metals. The inventive mould comprises at least one wall (11) of a die cavity. Said wall defines the die cavity (15) having an opening (12) for pouring in a metal melt and an outlet (13) for a billet. The aim of the invention is to better protect the wall (11) of the die cavity against wear and tear caused by a stress of a billet extraction. A plurality of support elements (20) with a support surface (21) for supporting the billet are embedded in the wall (11) of the die cavity. Each support element (20) consists of a material at least at the support surface (21). The material is provided with better capacity of resistance to wear during stress caused by a billet extraction than the material which pertains to the wall (11) of the die cavity and surrounds the support element (20).
