Said ring motor has a radiator (10) for electromagnetically irradiating the rotor or a part that rotates with the rotor; a sensor for receiving the electromagnetic radiation reflected by the rotor or the part that rotates with the rotor, and evaluating means for determining the angle of rotation and/or speed of rotation of the ore based on the electromagnetic radiation received by the sensor.
