A method, system, and apparatus are provided for enabling screen phone users to interact with the Internet. A request generated at a screen phone (105) is translated at an intermediary server (125) into a format that is compatible with the Internet server (140), e.g., an HTTP format, and is forwarded to and fulfilled at the Internet server (140). The Internet server (140) returns a response to the intermediary server (125). The response is converted at the intermediary server (125) directly into a format that is compatible with the screen phone (105) and is forwarded to the screen phone (105). Multimedia data may be exchanged between the screen phone (105) and the Internet server (140) via the intermediary server (125). Voice and data are received from the Internet server (140) at the intermediary server (125), the voice is stored at the intermediary server (125), and the data is forwarded to the screen phone (105).
