PURPOSE: A tripping device using phase reconfiguration and breaker therewith is provided to attain reconfiguration with high precision over the whole wide measuring range by determining a signal indicating the amplitude of a current signal supplied by a sensor to determine a signal indicating a phase between signals, and determining a signal indicating phase current to be subjected to reconfiguration. CONSTITUTION: The tripping device, receiving signals which indicate currents(Ip1, Ip2, Ip3) passing through a conductor(36) to be protected, includes a processing unit connected to current sensors(2, 3). The signals(Is1 and Is3) are supplied to the input of a current signal processing circuit(4). The current signal processing circuit(4) supplies a signal indicating measured and processed current to a tripping function processing circuit(5). A phase reconfiguration circuit(6) connected to the current signal processing circuit(4) and the tripping function processing circuit(5) receives a signal indicating measured current and supplies a signal indicating a phase subjected to reconfiguration. It is thus possible to provide a reconfiguration means capable of preventing or restricting generation of a reconfiguration error.
