PURPOSE: The method for centralizing, operating and managing exchanges in a switching system is provided to manage messages generated from exchanges in real time and to computerize analysis work. CONSTITUTION: If an operator registers the basic data of an exchange in an operation and management unit(12), the operation and management unit(12) stores the received messages in a message management database(121) in a text method. The operation and management unit(12) has an exchange management function, an exchange operation level management function and a report management function largely. Regarding the exchange management function, the operation and management unit(12), receiving basic data for message management and operation from the operator and collecting alarm messages, fault messages and status messages generated from the exchange in real time, stores them in the message management database(121) and analyzes them in real time. As for the report management function, the operation and management unit(12), if midnight passes, automatically searches the previous day message file stored in the message management database(121), makes a report file based on this and stores it in a report database(122). The operation and management unit(12), as to the exchange operation level management function, registers the present circumstances of the exchange with the appointment of an analyzing period and outputs a result of exchange operation level analysis through a printer(13).
