MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR ULTRASONIC SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for an ultrasonic sensor capable of preventing the change in detection area and the false alarm of the ultrasonic sensor, and the degradation of the fitting part appearance of a bumper and so on. SOLUTION: A through-hole 2 is formed in a fitting part 1 of a vehicle bumper and so on. A sensor fitting adapter 3 is inserted to the through-hole 2. A holding piece 4 for holding the ultrasonic sensor A is set to the sensor fitting adapter 3 with it protruded from the backside of the fitting part 1. A flange 5 abutting to the open end of the through-hole 2 on the surface side of the fitting part 1 is set to the sensor fitting adapter 3. An abutting piece 6 abutting to the open edge of the through-hole 2 on the backside of the fitting part 1 is set to the ultrasonic sensor A held by the holding piece 4. The open ends of the through hole 2 is hold and tightened between the flange 5 and the abutting piece 6. Protrusion of the horn part and the front side part of the ultrasonic sensor A from the surface of the fitting part 1 can be avoided.
