PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get compatibility between suppressed heel-and-toe wear and improved performance on ice. SOLUTION: A block 18 has sipes 20, 22 and 24 that extend in tire axis directions at intervals in tire circumference directions to divide it into smaller blocks 18A to 18D of stepwise increased circumferential lengths. The sipes 20 and 24 are partly inflected as they get deeper. The trailing smaller block 18D in the direction of rotation is rendered the most rigid, with the result that reduced movement of the trailing edge of the block 18 when it separates from a road surface, that is, a reduced slip on the road surface, can suppress heel- and-toe wear. The heel-and-toe wear suppression with no reductions in the number of sipes leaves performance on ice intact. |
