PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability when a temperature sensor for deciding the drying operation completing time has an abnormality in a clothing drier using a hot water type heat exchanger. SOLUTION: A drying control means 35 provided in a microcomputer 30 executes drying operation for drying clothing in a rotary drum 3 by sucking air heated by the heat quantity of hot water supplied from a hot water supply device 20 into the rotary drum 3 by a suction/discharge fan 7. The drying control means 35 decides drying extension time by supposing that detected temperature of a thermistor having an abnormality is a specified standard temperature when the abnormality is detected in a clothing temperature thermistor 13 or a room temperature thermistor 14 by a thermistor abnormality detecting means 36 during execution of automatic drying operation in which the drying extension time is decided in accordance with detected temperature of the clothing temperature thermistor 13 and the room temperature thermistor 14.
