PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to initialize a voltage of sustain electrodes to form wall charges suitable for addressing by adjusting the wall charge amounts during a reset period. A voltage of plural first electrodes(Y) is gradually decreased from a first voltage(Vs) to a second voltage(Vnf) during a falling period of a reset period. A voltage of plural second electrodes(X) is gradually decreased from a third voltage(Vs) to a fourth voltage(Vc') during a part of the falling period. Discharge cells to be turned on are selected from plural discharge cells while the second electrodes are biased at the third voltage during an address period. The third voltage is alternately applied to the first and second electrodes during a sustain period.
