PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove flashes from a blow-molded item when the item is within a cavity before two split molds are opened by pulling solidified burrs from the item by means of a burr removal member which slides along the inner surface of the molds outside the cavity between the molds. SOLUTION: A cylindrical parison is put into between split molds 11, 12 and the molds are closed to inflate and pressurize the parison, thereby pressing it against the inner surface of the cavity. At this time, soft burrs 46 protruding from the cavity are forced into a notched portion 20 of a burr removing member 19, following which, when the flashes 46 are solidified, hydraulic cylinders 22 are moved outward with respect to the cavity to move the horizontal flash removing members 19 apart from each other through connection bars 21. As a result, the solidified burrs 46 are separated form a molded item 44.
