PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform free decision of an engaging force between three sets of coupling to an optimum value from the design point of view regardless of thrust rigidity of the bearing member of an indexing shaft without depending on a relative position relation in an axial direction between coupling members on the fixed side and on the shaft side. SOLUTION: A clamping device for a dividing shaft by three sets of couplings partition a cylinder chamber 17 for advancing a piston cylinder chamber constituting member 7 on the fixed side fixed on the back side of a piston 15 together with a member 3 on the fixed side and a cylinder chamber constituting member 13 on the shaft side fixed on a dividing shaft 2. The inner end face of the cylinder chamber 17 positioned opposite to the piston 15 has a part 17a consisting of the cylinder chamber constituting member 7 on the fixed side and a rest consisting of the cylinder chamber constituting member 13 on the shaft side.
