<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the increase in viscosity of a two-component coating material and prolong the service life thereof by using a pigment preparation containing a phosphate and an inorganic pigment selected from among bismuth vanadate pigments and rutile-type pigments. SOLUTION: This pigment preparation contains 1 to 50 mass % phosphate and 50 to 99 mass % inorganic pigment selected from among bismuth vanadate pigments and rutile-type pigments. An orthophosphate which may contain hydroxide ion and/or halide ion is preferable as the phosphate, and a phosphate of boron, aluminum, zinc, and/or an alkaline earth metal is also suitable. A suspension of 10 to 60 mass % phosphate pigment in an aqueous medium is subjected to wet grinding with a ball mill or the like, then freed of a grinding medium, and dried under stirring with a rotary dryer or the like under a reduced pressure, thus giving a pigment preparation, which is compounded into a binder of a coating material. The preparation is useful for coloring a coating material, a printing ink, etc.</p> |
