A module (3) is provided for exchanging data between a write/read device (1) for standardised chip cards that are fitted with contacts and a contactless data carrier (2). The module (3) is provided with an insertion section (4) which can be inserted into the card slot (5) of the write/read device and has a contact device (9) that corresponds to the standardised chip card. The module also comprises a write/read device (6) for contactless data carriers (2). Said write/read device is electrically connected to the contact device (9) in the insertion section (4).
