PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure generator capable of stably generating pressure without bringing about an increase in cost by accurately determining a point of time when a pressure member such as a pump roll begins to squeeze an elastic tube, that is, a point of time when the generation of pressure in a tube pump is started, a recording apparatus equipped therewith and a control method of the recording apparatus. SOLUTION: A tube pump M5100 wherein a pump roll as a pressure member becomes the pressure contact state with a tube to squeeze a tube to generate pressure is provided and the pump roll is moved by a predetermined quantity to be brought into contact with the tube under pressure and, thereafter, the movement of the pump roll is one stopped. Thereafter, a valve lever M5038 is subjected to closing operation and the pump roll is again moved. When a cap M5001 into which negative pressure is introduced from the tube pump M5100 is cut off from the atmosphere by the closing operation of the valve lever M5038, negative pressure can be introduced into the cap M5001 from the tube pump M5100. |
