PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To curtail the installation space (area and volume) of an exhaust gas treatment apparatus and to control construction costs. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas containing harmful compounds, after being dedusted by a bag filter 1, is introduced into a catalyst column 2 and elevated. Since the temperature of the gas at the inlet of the column 2 is 170 deg.C, the gas is heated by a reheater 3 installed in the lower part of the column 2 to increase its temperature to 200 deg.C and introduced into a catalyst layer 4 behind the reheater 3. The treated exhaust gas discharged from the top of the column 2 is discharged into the air from a stack 6 through an induction blower 5. Ammonia gas is injected into the exhaust gas from a reducing agent injection device 7 in front of the column 2. Since the reheater 3 is located below the catalyst layer 4, it can be used as a support for the catalyst. |
