PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of using a drive motor having a lower output than that of a prior art which could have printed a printing medium having a different thickness and satisfactorily radiating a heat from an ink jet head. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a rectangular head holding frame 22 disposed vertically movably in an opposite direction to a printing medium P to hold a plurality of liquid discharging heads 33 so as to become parallel to the medium P at a discharge port surface, a power transmission mechanism for transmitting a vertically driving force to four corners of the frame 22 to vertically move the frame 22, and a single drive source 28 for driving the mechanism. In this case, when the heads 33 are mounted in the frame 22 to be vertically moved, a center of gravity G of the vertically moving part is disposed at a center of the frame 22. |
