PURPOSE: An ignition time advancing method is provided to advance an ignition time by modulating only the output signal of an engine RPM sensor without replacing components of an ECU(engine control unit) or an ignition system. CONSTITUTION: An ECU controls an ignition time with the output signal of an engine RPM sensor. Among the output signals, a long tooth signal is set as a reference point. The position of the long tooth signal is changed to make the ECU decide that the long tooth is in a prior position than the actual position. Therefore, the ignition time is advanced as much as an optional crank angle, then engine performance is enhanced and fuel consumption is reduced in case of a vehicle using both gasoline and LPG(liquid petroleum gas).
