PURPOSE: A cardphone unit and a method for using thereof are provided to offer a wireless terminal having a card and to design an apparatus and method to take a prompt action for card loss. CONSTITUTION: A terminal control unit(100) controls the overall operation of a terminal(10) and executes data transmitting and receiving with a smart card(20). A memory(110) composed of a ROM and a RAM stores a plurality of data. A display unit(120) outputs a plurality of display data generated in financial transactions. A key input unit(130) has a specific key defined to generate a settlement grant message for a charge settlement request. A transceiver unit(140) carries out down converting and demodulation for a received signal and up converting and modulation for a signal to be transmitted. A voice processing unit(150) encodes a voice signal inputted through a microphone and decodes a signal received from a base station. A card control unit(200) controls the overall operation of the smart card(20) and executes data transmitting and receiving with the terminal(10) through an input/output unit(230). A line interface unit(210) executes interfacing for data transmitting and receiving between the input/output unit(230) and the terminal(10). A wireless interface unit(220) carries out data transmitting and receiving with an external unit. The input/output unit(230) is for data input and output with the card control unit(200) and the terminal(10). A sensor unit(240) senses light, temperature, high voltage and the damage of a chip. A variable generation unit(260) generates a variable that is used for the encoding and decoding of data. A card memory(250) stores financial information and credit information and updates information by a received message.
