PURPOSE: A method for preventing a power shunt of a mobile communication terminal is provided to duplex a comparison value of a 'Vbatt' not to power off the terminal by using a corrected comparison value, and to additionally install a multiplexer circuit to use a back up battery with a power source, so as to prevent a system down even when a battery is alternated. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal decides whether a 'Vin' is bigger than a 'Vbatt.min'. If so, the 'Vin' becomes equal to a battery voltage through a basic band ASIC(BBA). If the 'Vin' is smaller than the 'Vbatt.min', the mobile communication terminal outputs an alarm message to a liquid crystal display(LCD). The mobile communication terminal decides whether an urgent key is inputted. If so, a 'Vbatt.min2' becomes equal to a 'Vbatt.min-a'. The mobile communication terminal controls a multiplexer to use a back up battery, and outputs a battery-alternating message. The mobile communication terminal decides whether the 'Vin' is bigger than the 'Vbatt.min2. If not, the mobile communication terminal performs a terminal power-off process.
