METHOD FOR SOLIDIFYING SLUDGE USING MIXER WITH HAMMER

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for solidifying sludge using a mixer with hammer. By using the mixer, the sludge generated from a wastewater plant can be applied to the soil cover material of a landfill site through solidification. The sludge through the solidification is made to be reduced for a water content from 80% to 50% or less and to be disinfected for disease-causing germs and bacteria. Also solidified sludge is changed for physical properties according to increasing for granularity and solidity, therefor the sludge can prevent pollutants such as heavy metals from erupting and odor from generating at any rate. Lime is used mostly as a solidifying agent. CONSTITUTION: The hammer-mixer is composed of the following parts: upper hammer spindles with the interval of 700-750mm to hit and mix sludge ; lower hammer spindles (14a,14b) with the revolutions of 300-600rpm to hit and mix the sludge fallen from the upper spindle (12a,12b); hammers (15); and partitions (16) for preventing sludge from adhering to the machine. This method proceeds to the following steps: a mixing step for sludge with lime of 4-15% wt of the sludge; a mixing step for the former mixture with cement of 10-19wt.pts. of the sludge; and a curing step for the cement mixture.
