PURPOSE: A structure for preventing leakage of refrigerant of a rotary compressor is provided to improve efficiency of the compressor by preventing refrigerant from leaking from a compressive chamber to an intake chamber through a head of a vane. CONSTITUTION: A rotary compressor comprises an eccentric roller to intake, compress, and vent refrigerant according to rotation of a shaft; a cylinder for action space of the eccentric roller; a vane for dividing an intake chamber and a compressive chamber while reciprocating in a slot formed in the cylinder according to the rotation of the eccentric roller; and upper and lower bearings for supporting the cylinder. In constituting a compressing machine part of the rotary compressor, the height of the vane is higher than the height of the cylinder and grooves(108) are formed to the upper and lower bearings(106) to operate the vane in the groove. Thus, refrigerant is prevented from leaking from the compressive chamber to the intake chamber through the head of the vane.
