POWER SAVING DISPLAY DEVICE AND THE CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A power saving display device and the control method thereof are provided to minimize the power consumption by enabling not only a display device but also the peripheral devices connected to the same to apply power saving mode. CONSTITUTION: The power saving type displaying device includes a power supply unit(10) for outputting power as the first power source(10a) in order to make a display device(1) operate. A power output unit(12) outputs the second power source(12a) in order to make a peripheral device connected to the display device(1) operate. A control unit(14) receives and controls the first power source(10a) in order to make the display device(1) operate. The control unit(14) may output an intercept control signal(14a) on the basis of the predetermined control mode. The power supply unit(10) inputted from the intercept control signal(14a) intercepts the output of the first power source(10a) and then can convert the mode of the display device(1) into a power saving mode. A power source intercepting unit(16) can intercept the output of the second power source(12a) in response to the interception control signal(14a) inputted from the control unit(14).
