The collimator can be oriented relative to the radiation beam (45) so that the collimator element length (L) exposed to the radiation can be varied. A beam of radiation is directed along an optical path from a radiation source to a radiation detector. A collimator with collimator elements (46) is present in this path. An Independent claim is also included for the collimator.
