The invention relates to a method for detecting a pressure drop in a tire of a vehicle involving the following steps: determination of a measuring parameter from the wheel radius or from parameters which reflect the size of the radius of the vehicle wheels, whereby the measuring parameter is a quotient of two sums of two wheel radii or parameters, which reflect said wheel radii of a pair of vehicle wheels; comparison of the measured parameter with a threshold value and detection of the drop in pressure taking into account the result of the comparison, whereby several measuring parameters relating to different pairs of wheel are determined. A drop in pressure in agiven vehicle wheel is only detected when all vehicle's measuring parameters all identify the said wheel as the one with a possible drop in pressure.
