<p>An apparatus for controlling a software module is provided which includes a software module having at least one input port and an output port, the module operative to perform a task. A linking interface communicates with the module and is operative to control a state of the software module. Memory is operative to store a plurality of inputs that configure states for the module, and processing circuitry communicates with the memory and the interface and is operative to control the state of the module by delivering one of the inputs from the memory to the linking interface.
