Foot fixing for a vehicle seat assembly

A foot fixing 10 for a vehicle seat comprising a track engaging means 14 and a seat engaging means interposed by a deformable blade 22, such that the blade 22 will absorb energy by deforming in the event of an impact. Preferably the deformable blade 22 is formed integrally with the seat engaging means and is orientated to be parallel to the longitudinal axis (20 fig 2) of the seat track. The track engaging means 14 may comprise a tensile load bearing means, which may comprise studs 16 arranged to engage the seat track, and a sheer load bearing means, which may comprise a plunger component 42 with track gripping means. A vehicle seat having a cross member with means for fixing the cross member to a plurality of seat tracks is also disclosed.
