PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by controlling a power supply voltage. SOLUTION: The radio selective calling receiver includes a control section 6 that drives a display section 8 for a received message, a message storage section 14, a DC/DC converter 10, and an A/D converter 24 or the like that detects a voltage of the converter 10, and a power resulting from boosting a voltage of a battery 20 by the converter 10 is supplied to the control section 6, the storage section 14 and the A/D converter 24. Furthermore, the converter 10 outputs a 1st voltage and a 2nd voltage higher than the 1st voltage as a power supply voltage on the basis of a control signal 54. A reception detection means configured by the control section 6 detects reception of a message through a radio section 4. A voltage control means configured by the control section 6 outputs the control signal 54 to control the converter 10, which usually outputs the 1st voltage and when the reception detection means detects the reception of a message, the DC/DC converter 10 outputs the 2nd voltage for a prescribed time. |
