The levelling device (1) comprises a slide (3) which is height adjustable in relation to the surface being levelled. An orientation device (4) is used to fix the orientation of the slide in relation to a horizontal plane. The levelling device is used on granular material surfaces and can be coupled to a towing vehicle, e.g. a tractor (2).
