PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction due to a fault in a CATV transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A channel selection control section 11 references contract information D1 stored in a contract information memory 13 to generate a channel selection signal C1. A contract information memory 13 receives a signal C7 to delete contract information. An address collation section 16 detects a terminal equipment address included in an outgoing data signal and collates the address with a concerned terminal equipment address. A reception state decision section 17 decides the reception state depending on a reception level and the result of address collation. An alarm display signal transmission section 21 generates an alarm display signal S3 in response to the signal C6 and allows a television receiver 22 to display the character information representing fault occurrence. A fault control section 18 references a time of a timer 19 depending on the signal C4 outputted from the reception state decision section 17 to measure the elapsed time and when a predetermined time elapses, the signals C6, C7 are sent. |
