PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption of a driving circuit of a magnetic head used for a magnetic field modulated magneto-optical disk device. CONSTITUTION: A magnetization control signal MAGCH becomes H-level in the case of no magnetizing inverison during the period of the specified number of clock and becomes L-level in the case the magnetizing inverison exists. When the magnetization control signal MAGCH is on the L-level, a high voltage VH is impressed on an intermediate tap of a bifilar winding 31 of the magnetic head through a transistor 39, and since transistors 40, 41 or transistors 42, 43 are turned on in accordance with write data signals DATA, *DATA, the exciting current flows into any one of the windings 31a or 31b. When the magnetization control signal MAGCH is on the H-level, since the transistors 46, 41 or transistors 48, 43 are turned on in accordance with the write data signals DATA, *DATA, the exciting current flows into both of the windings 31a and 31b from the side of low voltage VL.
