PURPOSE: To provide a drive controller for an active matrix liquid crystal display preventing the generation of a DC component due to a voltage applied to a liquid crystal where a horizontal synchronous frequency becomes higher. CONSTITUTION: The drive controller 10 is provided with a frequency decision circuit 12 deciding the horizontal synchronous frequency (h), a gate/on voltage variable circuit 16 changing a gate/on voltage Vg of a liquid crystal driving TFT 14 according to the horizontal synchronous frequency (h) decided with the frequency decision circuit 12 and a common voltage variable circuit 20 changing a common voltage Vc of a liquid crystal 18 according to the horizontal synchronous frequency (h) decided with the frequency decision circuit 12.
