Novel urethane compounds which are utilizable as blocked isocyanates, materials for diisocyanates, color developers for thermal recording papers, materials for powder coating materials, etc. They are biscarbamic ester compounds represented by general formula (1), wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and each represents linear or branched alkyl, (substituted) cycloalkyl, or (substituted) allyl. The biscarbamic ester compounds represented by general formula (1) are pyrolyzed to produce polycyclic aliphatic diisocyanates.
