PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main shaft structure for a switch allowing easy and inexpensive manufacture by simplifying the structure of a main shaft turning on/off the switch, and allowing improvement of reliability by improving transmission efficiency of driving force when driving the main shaft. SOLUTION: One end side of a main shaft 2 is rotatably journalled within a case, while the other end side is journalled by a bushing 15 and penetrates the bushing 15 to project outside the case. The main shaft 2 has a main shaft body 2a located inside the case, and a transmission shaft 2b located outside the case. The main shaft body 2a is journalled on the junction side to the transmission shaft 2b by a bearing 28 loosely fitted in the bushing 15 with a gap 151, while an end part of the main shaft body 2a penetrating the bearing 28 has a junction recess 201 for junction to the transmission shaft 2b. The transmission shaft 2b has a junction protrusion 23 in one end part outside the case, and a junction protrusion 202 in the other end part on the main shaft body 2a side. A structure of a junction part between the main shaft body 2a and the transmission shaft 2b is a universal joint structure.
