PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate and high-durability projection device constitut ed so that a malfunction is reduced at the time of detecting the position of an input unit. SOLUTION: This projection device is provided with a light source 7 emitting light beams for projecting a picture, a condensing unit 8a condensing the light beams from the light source 7, a rotary color converter 9 emitting the condensed light beams as the R, G and B light beams converted to the respective colors of R, G and B, a collimator 8b making the condensed R, G and B light beams emitted from the converter 9 into the parallel light beams, a reflector 10 reflecting the R, G and B light beams made into the parallel light beams by a plurality of rows and columns of reflection elements whose reflecting directions are individually controlled, a projector 11 projecting the light beams reflected from the reflector 10 toward a screen, the input unit 13 having a light emission part emitting a light beam for positioning, a light receiver 14 having a plurality of rows and columns of light receiving elements receiving the light beam emitted from the light emission part and a decision part deciding the light receiving element receiving the light beam from the light emission part out of the plurality of rows and columns of light receiving elements.
