The emitters (2) each utilize a concave, front-facing reflector, with reflecting side wings and an opaque floor-plate, through which, centrally, rises the tip of a fibre optic light guide (3) emanating from a common light source (1) placed at a conveniently accessible nearby location. Light is provided at each emitter by individually wired electroluminescent diodes. Emitters are ranged e.g. in 3 rows of 3 ganged units, each rotatable about a vertical axis by a link-bar terminating on a ball pivot, eccentrically mounted under the emitter. Emitters are linked sequentially by bars of predetermined lengths. Each row is similarly linked to the next above, and the whole array is swung in unison by a computer-controlled actuator. The headlight case also houses a sidelight (16,17), a dipped beam lamp (15) in a conventional reflector (14) and/or triple optic fibres (18) operated as direction indicators when illuminated by electroluminescent diodes. |
