PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound system which can surely reproduce music information or the like with high sound quality in spite of a simple configuration and which has high convenience and excellent operability. SOLUTION: The sound system 1 is provided with a headphone 2 that reads music information or the like recorded on a memory card 6 mounted to an external interface 7, reproduces an audio signal and outputs a sound in response to this audio signal and with a remote control 3 that transmits a control signal 4 in infrared rays to control a reproduction function or the like of the music information of the headphone 2 to the headphone 2. Since this acoustic system 1 transmits an infrared ray control signal 4 requiring less data amount than that of an audio signal or the like, the circuit configuration and the component configuration are simplified, a remote commander 3 is miniaturized and since the headphone 2 and the remote control 3 communicate with radio waves with each other, the handling of the sound system is facilitated.
