PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a plurality of video data photographed by a plurality of cameras simultaneously or in a sequence on one screen of a monitor as multi-screen. SOLUTION: A changeover means 3 sequentially select video signals of a plurality of channels photographed by a plurality of cameras 1, a rearrangement means 5 rearranges them in the unit of GOP by channels, an MPEG compression means 6 compresses them, a recording means 7 records them, an MPEG expansion means 8 expands them for each channel, the data size is compressed so that a display control means 9 can display video data in multi-screen, a plurality of display memories 15, 16 store the video data at their prescribed addresses in the order of input of each channel, the data are reproduced and an image output means 10 displays the data on one screen of a monitor 11 as multi-screen.
