PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent saturation of a capacity of a photoelectric conversion part or the like of a light-receiving means, and to increase the total signal charge quantity, even when a light-receiving signal is small, by setting an output determination value as variable one according to the number of accumulation times or the accumulation time of the signal charge. SOLUTION: In this active or passive type distance measuring device using a sensor array having a limited signal charge accumulation capacity or the like as a light- receiving means, an output determination level which is a comparison voltage of an output determination comparator 16 is set beforehand by a CPU 19, and is variable according to especially the number of accumulation times. The output determination levels for deciding a signal charge accumulation quantity at which accumulation of the charge is stopped and a distance measurement operation is started are prepared plurally during accumulation. During the small number of accumulation times, a small output determination level is set, and according to increase of the number of accumulation times, a larger output determination level is set. Hereby, saturation of the capacity of a photoelectric conversion part of the light-receiving means, a charge accumulation part, a charge transmission part, a signal output part or the like is prevented, and increase of the total signal charge quantity is possible even when a light-receiving signal is small. |
