Cathode cover for X-ray source housing

The cathode cover (1) has a lead screening on its inside surface provided by a cast metal cladding (5) applied to the aluminium alloy cover which acts as the mould for casting the cladding. The inside surface of the cover is provided with anchoring recesses for securing the cladding, e.g. anchoring channels extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the X-ray source housing, which are penetrated by the lead during casting, to provide a secure mechanical fixing.
