摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a higher definition display in an electro-optic device in which information is displayed by controlling a polarized state of light passing through an electrooptical material by an electric field applied between an under layer side electrode and an upper layer side electrode formed on one substrate. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal device 1 in which an aligned state of a liquid crystal 20 is controlled every pixel 2 by utilizing a horizontal or diagonal electric field generated between an under layer side electrode 11 and an upper layer side electrode 13 formed on a substrate 10, the under layer side electrode 11 and the upper layer side electrode 13 are formed with an ITO film in such a way that emergence of light is enabled even from a region with the electrodes 11, 13. A window 130 is formed in the upper layer side electrode 13 at a central part of each overlap region in which the electrodes 13, 11 are overlapped and the horizontal or diagonal electric field is also generated in the center of the overlap region 22.
