The secondary battery has a wound body (100) fitted in a housing (101) with a base and a sidewall and provided by lamination of a positive electrode and a negative electrode with a separator between them. The housing is supplied with a non-aqueous electrolyte and closed by a head part (108) coupled to the positive electrode via a number of lines (107), the negative electrode coupled to the housing base by a number of lines (106). The wound body is supported within the housing via a holder maintaining a required relative spacing from the head part and the base.
